Admission Terms & Conditions
1. Age Criteria
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age limit shall be 35 years.
2. Educational Qualification
- Candidates with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard (10+2) examination must have obtained 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
- Candidates from State Open School recognized by State Government or NIOS, with Science subjects and English, are also eligible.
- English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for eligibility to B.Sc. (Nursing).
3–5. Other Requirements
- 3. Candidate shall be medically fit.
- 4. Married candidates are eligible.
- 5. Students shall be admitted once a year only.
7. Entrance Examination
Selection of candidates is based on the merit of the entrance examination:
- Aptitude for Nursing — 20 marks
- Physics — 20 marks
- Chemistry — 20 marks
- Biology — 20 marks
- English — 20 marks
Minimum qualifying marks: 50%. Entrance test shall be conducted by the University/State Government.
8. Reservation Policy
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH categories is applicable as per Central/State Government norms.
- SC/ST candidates require 40% marks in core subjects instead of 45%.
- 5% disability reservation for candidates with loco-motor disability (40–50%).
- Upper age limit relaxed by 5 years for disabled candidates.
- A committee with a medical officer + nursing expert will certify eligibility.
- Reservation applies only within sanctioned seats.
- Semester begins on 1st August every year.
- Institutions & Universities are responsible for document verification.
Note:
9. Foreign Nationals
Qualification equivalency for 12th Standard must be obtained from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institutions, SNRC and Universities must ensure eligibility criteria are fully matched as prescribed by the Council.
